Greetings, Readers.
It has been a sad weekend in our little town. We hope,
though, that you might find a little cheer in some of the events we have to
offer. First of all, if you do not already, know, The Moscow Interfaith
Association has organized a Community Gathering and Prayer Vigil for four
nights: Monday, May 21 through Thursday, May 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The prayer service will be at the United Methodist Church in Moscow (across
from the High School) on Third Street. All are welcome, regardless of
religion, creed, or color, to come band together as a community, and light a
candle against the darkness. I hope you will forgive me for not lingering
overlong on the events of this weekend - suffice it to say that our hearts
go out to the victims, and that we wish their families and friends the best
in this sorry time.
On a more positive note: Do you know a princess that
likes to dance? Or a little girl who both wants to be a princess and to
dance? Young girls ages five through seven are invited to the Princess
Ballet Workshop, where they will learn the basics of ballet. They will also
have a chance to make their own tutu, wand, and tiara, which they will keep
when the workshop is over. The workshop runs from June 11th through 14th,
from 9:00am to 10:30am at the University of Idaho PE Building. The
registration fee for this wonderful workshop is a mere $75, which includes
the cost of the tutu, wand, and tiara. Please pre-register by June 4th. The
website for the workshop is

Have you ever wanted to dance a jig? Of course you have!
That was a silly question. Jessie Hunter, master Celtic instructor, will be
hosting a Ceili Celtic House Dance Party, on Saturday June 16th. The event
will run from 3:00 until 6:00, and is a mere $10 per participant. Children
of all ages are welcome, but those under the age of 7 must be accompanied by
an adult. For more information, check out the website at

No silly questions this time - Come be in a production of
Annie! Festival Dance has been busy, as you can see, coming up with fun and
creative workshops for the summer. From July 30th through August 3rd,
students will learn the basics of musical theatre and ultimately stage a
performance of Annie on August 4th. Classes run from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The
workshop is open to all children, ages six through eleven, and costs $85 in
full. Space is limited to 20 students, so register early! The website for
his workshop is

Also, Readers, please remember that the seventh and final
Harry Potter book is coming out in July. We are offering discounts of 20% on
all pre-orders, and will be having a midnight party for the release of the
book. Please come share this monumental occasion with us! And, for those who
simply cannot wait, please come on down to Book People and check out our
"What Would Harry Read" display, forthcoming, to find excellent young-adult
fantasy novels to whet your appetite for the big event!
Finally, Homa Assefi has written us with news of an
exciting event on the distant horizon, and I quote directly: "On Monday
