Friday, February 16th, UI poet Robert Wrigley will read at 7:30 PM in the UI Law School Courtroom. He will be reading new selections from "Earthly Meditations," as well as newer than new works, previously unknown to the literary population. Don't miss what's sure to be a fantastic event!

Saturday, February 17th, contributors to Moscow's newest literary zine, Gumption, will read here in BookPeople at 5:00 PM. Come support the local literary community!

Tuesday, February 20th, Buddy Levy will read in room 040 of the UI Teaching Learning Center at 7:30pm. Levy, longtime adventure and outdoor writer and author of "American Legend: the real-life adventures of David Crockett," will read recent essays and a selection from his forthcoming book about Cortez and his conquest. Levy's prose is as lively and engaging as it is witty and intelligent, and his readings encompass all of the above. Don't miss it!

 On Wednesday, February 21, Faith Ringgold, Artist and Writer, will be at WSU's Todd Auditorium Hall for a reading, showing and signing beginning at 7:30.

 February 22 brings Lunafest, a women's film festival at the Kenworthy. The show starts at 7:00, and we have tickets here at BookPeople.

Sojourner's Alliance will host "A Night with the Stars" on Sunday, February 25, 4:00pm. This formal Academy Awards party will be at the Latah County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $50 and available at BookPeople.

On March 1st, Dr. Natalie Kreuzer will present the second portion of Looking At: Jazz," a film and discussion series. Dr. Kreuzer will lead a discussion of "The Jazz Age and Harlem as a Center of Jazz." Contact Rochelle Smith at rsmith@uidaho.edu with questions.

Summoning all Spelling Afficionados/Aficianados. Enjoy the joys of spelling. An adult Spelling Bee is in the works at BookPeople and we are currently tabulating votes as to whether it will be a SLAM spelling bee or governed by Official Rules. Let us know what you prefer. We will keep you posted for dates and times but prepare yourself for the forthcoming event. If you need help prepping yourself for this mighty moment come down to BookPeople and pick up a copy of Spellbound, a documentary on Spelling Bees.
