Greetings Readers!
I hope all is well in your world this fine summer
evening! We've got just a few things of note for you this week -- we figured
that after everything that's been going on in the town and in the world,
perhaps you could use a break. But don't worry! A smaller update does not,
and never will, mean less exciting events!
Do you know, Readers, about the Moscow Public
Library Book Group? Well you should! They meet on the 3rd Monday of every
month at 6:30 pm at the Moscow Public Library. Their summer reading
selections are as follows: June 19th - Outwitting History by Aaron Lansky;
July 17th - The Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy Fowler; August 21st -
Running with Scissors: A Memoir by Augusten Burroughs; and September 18th -
The Kite Runner by Khalid Hosseni. If you have any questions about the
group, feel free to email Debra at indexer40@yahoo.com or Chris at
chriss@latahlibrary.org.
Saturday, June 17th is the super special, one-day only
Latah and Whitman Counties Computer Recycling Event! Recycling computers
isn't cheap, Readers, as I'm sure you're aware. But Saturday, June 17th,
it's half-off on the special summer Computer Recycling sale! Also, you can
recycle any circut board or cell phone for free, and keyboards, mice, and
speakers are only $0.25! So take this oppertunity to dispose of your old
computers, monitors, laptops, printers, scanners, fax machines, keyboards,
(electronic) mice, speakers, circut boards, or cell phones in the most
environmentally friendly way possible! The planet will thank you, and so
will Moscow Recycling! The building is located at 401 N. Jackson in Moscow.
You can pre-register at 208-882-0590 (this is also the number to call for
more information).
Readers, the Art Walk is coming! And Book People of
Moscow is proud to once again host the Million Bead Project! This is a work
of art done by McDonald Elementary and Moscow High School students along
with artist Jeanne Leffingwell. Look for it when the Art Walk starts later
in the summer! Remember, Readers - if you think of anything exciting to add
to our little missives, please by all means send it to us. We are always
happy to add events sent in by Alert Readers. And that is all for this time.
As I said, a short update. We hope that you have a good evening, and a good
week! Take care, Readers!
-Book People of Moscow
