Greetings, Readers!
I hope that you enjoy this small but informative update. As always, if
you have anything to contribute to our mailing list, please feel free to
email us at
bookpeople@moscow.com. We love hearing about community events, and we
love it even more when everybody gets to hear about them! So take a few
minutes to let us know what's going on, so that we can help spread the word!
We are in the process of recovering from Joan Opyr's fabulously
well-attended book signing last night - an event that packed the store, in
spite of a snowstorm that later turned to howling winds and chilling
temperatures. Those brave souls who came out in such weather (and there are
far too many of them to count) have their copies already, but if you have
not yet procured a copy of "Idaho Code", then it is not too late! Some
copies still remain at Book People. Come pick up your copy today, and enjoy
the mystery of the year!
Idaho Rivers United is proud to sponsor a special free screening of Trout
Grass - the marvelous documentary written and narrated by David James
Duncan, author of The River Why and other exceptional titles. The film is
shot on location is Southern China and Montana, and documents the
transformation from bamboo plant to finished split-cane fly rod. But this
documentary is about more than just catching fish... if you're curious, come
and see it! The screening is free, and takes place Wednesday, March 22nd at
7:00pm. It will be held in the University of Idaho College of Natural
Resources, room #10.
The Intuitive Arts Moscow (IAM) Holistic Fair is coming! Saturday and
Sunday, the weekend of March 25th-26th, at The Orchard Studio in Moscow.
Come join the curious and the enlightened and the interesting for two days
of workshops, lectures, dances, ceremonies, movies, and even a jam session!
If that's not enough, there will also be booths featuring well-known and
respected individuals, many offering samples of their services, and all of
them offering information and products for the discerning, enlightened
consumer! How much, you may ask, is a ticket to this marvelous event? Why,
admission is FREE! That's right, readers, free! For more information, visit
the website
http://www.theorchardstudio.com/IAM_Holistic_Fair.htm or call
(208)882-8159.
The Latah Trail Foundation is seeking donations for a silent auction, "Trailopoly",
to be held at 6:00pm Friday, May 19th, at the University Inn Best Western.
If you have anything to donate, please contact Isabella Whitfield at (208)
596-1805. Rest assured, good Readers, that your donations will be going to a
good and honest cause!
Coming soon to Book People of Moscow: Literary Mama - Reading for the
Maternally Inclined. Based on the highly acclaimed Literary Mama website,
www.literarymama.com, this book contains fiction, non-fiction, and
poetry for and by mothers. Most writing on parenting is not literature, or
not written by parents. But ALL of the work in Literary Mama is both.
Literary Mama celebrates the voices of the maternally inclined, paves the
way for other writer mamas, and honors the difficult and rewarding work
women do as they move into motherhood. Ask for your copy today!
Good news, Readers! The 7th annual Children's Book Conference for writers

Oregon. Workshops for writing, plot, picture book structure and development,

fiction, and even dealing with writer's block. It is also possible to have
your manuscript or portfolio reviewed by faculty! For more information about
the children's book event of the year, contact Elizabeth Snyder at

Take care, Readers, until next time!
