Greetings, Readers!

Oh, have we ever got some summer fun for you! All kinds of great things are afoot these days, and we're all very excited about them! I hope you enjoy this latest missive as much as I have, there's certainly some good stuff in here!

Booksigning, Saturday, June 24th! Joanna Cohan Scherer will be at Book People of Moscow signing copies of her book on Benedicte Wrensted, A Danish Photographer of Idaho Indians. Over 10 years in the making, this book is far and away the most comprehensive ever compiled on the work of Wrensted, an undeservedly obscure Danish woman now destined for greatness thanks to Scherer's excellent and comprehensive research. See what it's all about, Readers, this upcoming Saturday from 10:00am until 12:00 noon. We've got books in stock for you to check out. You won't be sorry!

Also this weekend - Intuitive Arts Moscow! Featuring Holistic Healers, Intuitive Readers, and wellness- and spirit based products! Friday the 23rd from 12:00-8:00pm, and Saturday the 24th from 10:00am - 7:00pm. Admission is free! The event is located at Orchard Studio. For more information, check out www.theorchardstudio.com!

This Wednesday, June 28th, is the official Book People of Moscow showing of Wallace and Gromit - Curse of the Were-Rabbit at the Kenworthy! The showing is at 7:00pm, and is FREE to people who carry a page from this newsletter! Alternately, you can stop by and pick up a stamped classic Book People postcard, and that will serve as your ticket! We're hoping that you all will join us for some good times!

Remember, Readers, there is a Farm Fair at MaryJanesFarm! This event takes place July 1 and 2, from 10:00am - 4:00pm. The event will include, among other things, Antiques, Farm Collectibles, Live Music, Yummy Food, and of course Fun & Games. If you've got someone who needs to be convinced that the Farm Fair is a good place to be, you could try persuading them with some Magnetic Farmgirl Wisdom, now in stock at Book People! We realize that not everybody is lucky enough to be or have a farm girl handy, so we have the next best thing - MaryJane's Magnetic Wisdom, featuring a small booklet and fourteen Wisdom magnets with a handy stand! A perfect gift for any occasion.

Also, the Palouse Folklore Society is having a benefit concert on July 1st at 7:00pm. The concert will be "Out Beyond Ideas", put on by David Wilcox and Nance Pettit. Tickets are a steal, a mere $12, and the local proceeds will benefit the Compassionate Communication Network of the Palouse.

Just a reminder for you all, Rendezvous in the Park is coming to town next month! Book People is selling Rendezvous Buttons for the low low price of $32, which will get you in to all four shows! Also, you can get tickets online at the Rendezvous website at www.moscowmusic.com. Thursday, July 20th is World Beat Rock, then Friday is Blues Night, Saturday is Latin Groove, and Sunday is Classical Afternoon. The aforementioned website also features a detailed breakdown of the excellent bands playing each night - check it out!

Julie Monroe will be at Book People July 22nd between the hours of 10:00am and noon. She will be signing copies of her book, Images of America - Latah County, which contains over 200 stunning black-and-white pictures of local history! You can stop by Book People today for your copy!

Finally, Readers, a heads up - Paula Coomer will be in Book People Saturday, August 23rd, at noon sharp! She will be reading and signing her books of short stories and poetry. We will have a little more information for you as the event nears, of course. But we hope you'll mark the date on your calendars, and set it aside for what promises to be a fun time!

That's all for now, Readers! A good bit of news if I don't say so myself. Stay tuned, though - next week, in addition to our regular fare, we promise some advice on reading by Nancy Pearl!
